War Of The Worlds

Definitely exciting, gripping in parts, but left me thinking that what I want out of a really compelling sci-fi movie is defined in this equation:

X is to War Of The Worlds as Gattica is to The Island, and a western action movie is to an old Jackie Chan flick.
